Description
The CGR E Carbon-X blends everyday practicality with smooth electric assistance and a lightweight carbon frame, offering a more upright and confident riding position for greater comfort and control. Weighing just 12.0 kg, it pairs a sleek carbon monocoque frame with internal cable routing and the near-silent MAHLE X20 e-drive system for smooth, natural-feeling assistance when you need it most. SRAM’s fully wireless Apex XPLR AXS groupset delivers a wide gear range for steep climbs and mixed terrain. Durable Mavic Allroad wheels and 40mm Schwalbe G-One tyres keep things fast, stable, and composed, whatever your ride.
Electric Motor System
The MAHLE X20 e-drive system gives you lightweight, natural-feeling power that kicks in when you need it. It’s whisper-quiet, stealthily tucked away, and delivers up to 140 km of assistance, or more than 200 km with the optional range extender. With 55 Nm of torque and a larger 350 Wh battery, it helps you up climbs, across rough ground and through longer days in the saddle. The intuitive Duo handlebar control unit puts unmatched control of your ride at your fingertips. You can even set the system to respond to your effort or heart rate, so it’s always working how you want it, whether you're training, rebuilding fitness or just riding for the love of it.
Groupset
Apex is built for riders who demand versatility and solid performance. Its 1x12 drivetrain gives you a wide range, perfect for gravel, bikepacking, and everything in between. Wireless shifting is smooth, reliable, and precise, while hydraulic disc brakes give you control in all conditions. With full AXS connectivity, you can tweak your settings, check battery life, and update firmware straight from your phone. Simple to use, Apex keeps you focused on what matters most: the ride.
Wheelset
Ride smoother, faster, and further, wherever the road (or trail) takes you. Lightweight and tough, the Mavic Allroad wheels with integrated MAHLE X20 motor deliver responsive power and confident control across any terrain. Paired with 40mm Schwalbe G-One tyres, it’s a setup that’s as eager for hidden dirt tracks as it is for tapping out the tempo on tarmac.
Handlebars
The new Ribble one-piece carbon cockpit enhances performance while sharpening the bike’s aesthetic with clean lines and fully integrated cabling. Its relaxed, upright position improves control and visibility across mixed terrain, while ergonomic grips boost all-day comfort and confident handling on back lanes, gravel and everything in between. The integrated Duo handlebar control unit lets you manage assistance levels effortlessly without taking your hands off the bars, so you can stay focused on the ride.
Saddle
Stay stable and comfortable over rough terrain. Our integrated seat clamp, proprietary D-shaped carbon seatpost, and Selle Italia Model X saddle combine to deliver outstanding rear-end compliance, smoothing out trail chatter for improved comfort and all-day performance.

Like all Ribble bikes, the CGR E CARBON-X SPORTFIT is covered by a lifetime warranty on frame and forks for the original purchaser. This includes any manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship. The standard manufacturer's warranty applies to all other components.
Range depends on rider weight, terrain, tyre pressure, and temperature. As a guide, a 90 kg rider on mixed routes can expect up to 140 km on a full charge. Add the optional eX1 range extender, which increases the range by up to 55 km.
Yes. The CGR E CARBON-X SPORTFIT is pedal-assisted, so it always requires rider input. Stop pedalling and it coasts to a stop. Just like a regular bike.
Absolutely. The motor only provides assistance when you pedal. You’re always in full control of speed and handling.
No. You don’t need a licence, tax or insurance to ride pedal-assisted electric bikes in the UK. That said, we always recommend having some form of bike insurance.
Yes, the CGR E CARBON-X SPORTFIT is eligible for Cycle to Work.
The Duo handlebar remote allows you to adjust assistance levels with a single press, providing effortless and intuitive control at your fingertips. Assistance levels are shown as follows:
- White: off
- Green: minimum
- Orange: medium
- Purple: maximum
- Cyan: smart assist via app
The CGR E CARBON-X's X20 control uses seven LEDs to display battery charge.
- Fully lit = 94–100%
- Fewer lights = lower charge
- Slow blinking = 0–10%
- Fast blinking = critically low
Just plug into any standard socket using the supplied charger. The optional range extender can also be used to charge the main battery on the go.

Yes. The CGR E CARBON-X SPORTFIT’s electrical components are IP54 rated for splash protection but should not be jet washed or fully immersed. Use a waterproof cover when transporting in wet conditions.
Yes. A MAHLE-certified technician can remove the battery by accessing it through the bottom bracket shell.
