From city commutes to gravel tracks and weekend adventures, this do-it-all aluminium e-bike combines everyday practicality with confident all-surface performance. The 7005 hydroformed alloy frame is paired with the smooth and efficient MAHLE X30 rear hub e-drive system, providing a natural-feeling pedal assist that helps you ride further and tackle climbs with ease. With Shimano’s reliable Tiagra 10-speed gearing, durable Mavic Allroad wheels, fast rolling 40mm Schwalbe G-One Allround tyres and a Selle Italia Model X saddle, the CGR E AL is built for comfort, control, and versatility, wherever the road, path, or trail leads.
Electric Motor System
The Mahle X30 e-drive system delivers just the right level of assistance - light, quiet, and so seamlessly integrated, it fades into the background. Designed for mixed-terrain exploration, it offers a natural ride feel, an impressive range of 90km off one charge, and low-maintenance performance. With a lighter weight and over-the-air software updates, it’s as easy to live with as it is to ride.

Shimano Tiagra delivers impressive entry-level performance, drawing on technology cascaded from Shimano’s top-tier groupsets. Handlebars
Ribble alloy bars are built for real-world riding, with a compact shape that makes it easy to move between tops, hoods and drops. The ergonomic profile helps reduce pressure and keeps things comfortable, mile after mile. Paired with a matching alloy stem and wrapped in soft bar tape, it’s a setup that feels right from the first pedal stroke—whether you’re heading out for an hour or all day.
Saddle
Stay comfortable and in control, even when the trail gets rough. The hidden seatpost clamp, D-shaped alloy post and Selle Italia Model X saddle work together to soak up the buzz and smooth out the ride.

Like all Ribble bikes, the CGR E AL is covered by a lifetime warranty on frame and forks for the original purchaser. This includes any manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship. The standard manufacturer's warranty applies to all other components.
The CGR E AL range depends on rider weight, terrain, tyre pressures, and temperature. Typically, a 90 kg rider on mixed routes can expect up to 90 km, with an optional eX1 range extender increasing this by up to 60 km.
Yes. The CGR E AL is pedal-assisted, so it always requires rider input. Stop pedalling and it coasts to a stop. Just like a regular bike.
Absolutely. The motor only provides assistance when you pedal. You’re always in full control of speed and handling.
No. You don’t need a licence, tax or insurance to ride pedal-assisted electric bikes in the UK. That said, we always recommend having some form of bike insurance.
Yes, the CGR E AL is eligible for Cycle to Work.

The CGR E AL’s X30 control unit uses seven LEDs to display battery charge:
- Fully lit = 94-100%
- Fewer lights = lower charge
- Slow blinking = 0-10%
- Fast blinking = critically low
Just plug into any standard socket using the supplied charger. The optional range extender can also be used to charge the main battery on the go.
Yes, you can test ride the CGR E AL at our Clitheroe Showroom. Contact the showroom in advance to reserve your test bike.
Yes. The electrical system is IP54 rated for splash protection. Don’t jet wash or fully submerge the bike, and use a waterproof cover if transporting in wet conditions.
Yes. A MAHLE-certified technician can remove the battery by accessing it through the bottom bracket shell.
The CGR E AL’s MAHLE iX2 battery is designed to handle around 500 full charge cycles with minimal degradation, provided it's stored and maintained correctly.
The CGR E AL SPORTFIT offers the same ride and versatility, but with flat bars for a more upright and confident position. It’s a step up from a typical hybrid, designed for control, comfort and all kinds of riding.
Yes. The CGR E AL features integrated cable routing for a clean look and protection from the elements.
The CGR E AL comes with 40mm tyres as standard and can take up to 50mm, or 45mm with mudguards.
Yes. The CGR E AL can be fitted with a rear pannier rack using our pannier rack adaptor kit, boosting carrying capacity by up to 15 kg (sold separately).
No, it is not approved for use with child safety seats.
Yes. A removable mudguard bridge makes fitting mudguards easy (kit sold separately). We also offer a combined mudguard and rack adaptor kit for anyone looking to fit both.
The CGR E AL uses a PF46 press-fit bottom bracket with an integrated torque sensor.
The CGR E AL features a 1.5” integrated headset and R457B 52 x 42 x 7mm 45° x 45° headset bearings top and bottom.
The CGR E AL uses a proprietary D-shaped alloy seatpost with 10 mm setback, and compatible with carbon or alloy saddle rails.
