Wheelset

Wind tunnel perfected to reduce inertia and maximise your watt output; Cosmic SL 65 offers solo breakaway artists, sturdy sprinters, and triathletes a wind-carving, progressive aerodynamic wheelset for fast, flat road races or windy triathlons. The 65mm deep and 19mm wide NACA rim profile helps to reduce drag, resulting in faster acceleration and enhanced crosswind stability. Paired with Pirelli P Zero road tyres, which balance performance with durability, for both reliability and comfort. The carcass features excellent puncture resistance, whilst coming in at an impressively low weight.

*Please Note: The bike is supplied with the latest version of the Cosmic SL65 wheels, which feature an updated aesthetic. When configuring your build, click the wheelset option to view up-to-date imagery.

Handlebars

Engineered exclusively for our fastest-ever aero bike, the Ultra-Aero bars redefine aerodynamic integration with a patent-pending, next-generation design. At the heart of this innovation is a groundbreaking wake-generating concept that disrupts airflow, creating a controlled wake for the rider’s legs to sit within while strategically manipulating vortexes to enhance overall aerodynamics. The aggressive, drag-defying anatomic wing top section reinforces the bar’s aero dominance, cutting through the air with precision. But speed isn’t the only priority—comfort is integral to the design. The flat-top section offers a secure and relaxed hand position for climbing, while the ergonomically optimized drops naturally conform to the rider’s palm. With a textured finish that eliminates the need for bar tape, every detail is fine-tuned for performance and control.

Saddle

The Ultra-Aero seat post features a truncated aerofoil profile that's aerodynamically optimised to reduce drag in the high-speed airflow disturbed by the rider's leg. A composite shaft absorbs road shocks for a vibration-smoothing ride quality further enhanced by a Selle Italia SLR Boost saddle. Bringing performance, comfort, and support to any endurance ride or race event, the SLR's neutral shape allows complete freedom of movement without compromising pedalling efficiency or power output.

Frequently Asked Questions

Builds start from just 7.8 kg, with the Sport weighing approximately 8.25 kg and the Enthusiast 7.8 kg.

Similarly to the SL, the Ultra-Aero SL R's construction features a bespoke blend of T1000 and T800 carbon fibres. However, the SL R features more T1000 fibre within its layup, allowing for a slight weight reduction without compromising its strength, stiffness, or structural integrity.

We offer a lifetime warranty on all Ribble frames and forks for the original purchaser. This covers any manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship, so you can ride with complete confidence. The standard manufacturer's warranty covers all other components.

We've developed a set of carbon extensions that bolt into the underside of the handlebars, using the two holes normally reserved for an out-front computer mount. If you wish to fit a bike or GPS computer, you can attach it directly to the central section of the extensions.

The Ultra-Aero SL R has a 68 mm BSA threaded bottom bracket shell, allowing for ease of maintenance and enhanced reliability.

Cycling's governing body has approved the Ultra-Aero SL R for competition in UCI-sanctioned events. It was ridden to great success at the Commonwealth Games, where it helped Team GB claim a Bronze medal. However, the disc brake adaptor for the front forks must be swapped out for the alternative version supplied with the bike. Failure to follow these guidelines when competing in events carried out under UCI regulations may result in disqualification.

Yes. In combination with the frameset, the Ultra-Aero SL R carbon integrated handlebars hide all the cables, preserving the ultra-sleek lines for maximum drag savings.

The frame is aero-optimised around 28 mm tyres and can accommodate 32 mm (manufacturer dependant).

All standard bottle cages and bottles are compatible. In fact, the Ultra-Aero SL R is optimised to be faster with a bottle and cage fitted than without.

Two. One is situated on the down tube and one on the seat tube.

The frame requires M12 x 125 mm x1.5 and M12 x 173 mm x 1.5 front and rear thru-axles.

Due to the Ultra-Aero SL R being a speed-centric aero bike, there aren't any integrated mudguard mounts.

We recommend a maximum system weight of 120 kg (bike, rider & luggage).

Yes, you can. The carbon extensions bolt into the underside of the handlebars, using the two mounting points typically reserved for an out-front computer mount. Anyone wanting to mount a cycle or GPS computer can mount it to the extensions themselves.

Absolutely. However, the aerodynamic profile of the top portion of the handlebar makes it difficult to find compatible lights and computers. To overcome this, we've designed the handlebars to accept any compatible out-front computer, which bolts into the underside of the handlebars.

We do not supply pedals with our bikes due to the various systems people use. However, when configuring your bike, you can select from a range of our best-selling pedals.
